An audience of One

Live for an audience of One…….live for God

The world will applaud us if we conform to their patterns and behaviours, but as Christians, our lives are to be pleasing to God.

In the X factor or Britain’s got talent to America’s got talent auditions, it only matters what the judges think. It’s only the judges who can put the contestants through to the next round. They have the final decision.

In the same way, one day we will stand before the Great Judge. On that day, we will have to give an account of how we spent time, money, resources, how we used opportunities given to show love, compassion, to share God with others.

What we say on THAT day depends on how we live THIS day…WHO we live for this day and EVERYday.

On that day, it will just be you and God. Me and God.

Those people we try to please in the here and now, while on earth, won’t be there.

It’s a sobering thought….

‘Don’t become so well adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out…’ Romans 12|2

I have to live a holy life, pleasing to God, Who will judge the world in the end. You have to live to please God Who will judge the world in the end.

But what does that mean?🧐

Begin each day with God, live out each day with God and end each day in conversation with God. Desire spending time with Him, invest in the talents given to you and love those. These are just a few of the wonderful privileges we have as children of God…..🤗

Our focus: on God

Our desire: That He will say, ‘well done My good and faithful servant. Enter into My rest.’ Matthew 25|21

A pointer from Apostle Paul

‘Friends, don’t get me wrong. By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward-to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.’ Philippians 3|13 and 14

Creation eagerly awaits

When is the time to allow God’s light to shine brightly in us and then through us?
The Bible tells us that the time is NOW.

‘The suffering we have now are nothing compared to the great glory that will be shown to us. Everything God made is waiting with excitement for God to show His children’s glory completely.’ Romans 8 verses 18 and 19

We belong to God and being children of God we should seek to do what has been commanded for us to do.
We are to be witnesses to those we are surrounded with by not only telling about how God has transformed us and how He has a better plan for their lives but even showing what it means to receive love from God and then to give out that genuine love to others in return.
The world is eagerly waiting.
Who will you impact?

Love never ends

‘Love is patient and kind, not jealous, not boastful, not proud, rude or selfish, not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not gloat over other people’s sins but takes its delight in the truth. Love always bears up, always trusts, always hopes, always endures’.
1 Corinthians 13 verses 4‭- to 7

Give cheerfully

‘Each should give according to what he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.’
2 Corinthians 9 verse 7

Am I a cheerful giver in my offering towards The Lord?

Am I a cheerful giver with my time?

Am I a cheerful giver with my food even before those who are hungry ask?

Am I a cheerful giver with my attention?

Are you?

Knowing God

‘The way we can be sure we know Him is if we are obeying His commands. Anyone who says, “I know Him,” but isn’t obeying His commands is a liar — the truth is not in him. But if someone keeps doing what He says, then truly love for God has been brought to its goal in him. This is how we are sure that we are united with Him. A person who claims to be continuing in union with Him ought to conduct his life the way He did.’
1 John 2 verses 3 to 6

‘Whoever has My commands and keeps them is the one who loves Me and the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father and I will love him and reveal Myself to him.’  John 14 verse 21
