Prince of Peace

‘A child has been born to us. God has given a Son to us. He will be responsible for leading the people. His Name will be Wonderful Counsellor, Powerful God, Father Who Lives Forever, Prince of Peace’. Isaiah 9:6

It can be very easy to get irritated, annoyed, angry. These negative emotions always seem to override positive ones, even if you had spent the minutes beforehand in a free, relaxed and happy state.

Hurtful words or regrettable actions usually proceed, once negativity begins to feel comfortable and take residence in our minds. At that point, it is not ready to leave. At times, it doesn’t show signs of backing down until you’ve maybe overstepped the mark. It is God that we need at all times. We need peace, God’s true peace. It’s been said that, ‘Peace is not the absence of something but the presence of Someone’. It is that ‘ Someone’ in whom our assurance of hope is found in. Jesus is the Prince of Peace. When our eyes are fixed on Him, and our minds on Heaven, it is very difficult for negativity to creep in. When Jesus is at the centre of your life, everything revolves around Him, His Will and for His Name to be glorified.

Although, the enemy will not back down, when we look to God, The Truth of Who He is and who we have become in Him will then become the overriding factor. As we invite God into the situation, His peace will flood our lives.

‘I leave you My peace, My peace I give unto you. I do not give it to you as the world does. Don’t let your hearts be troubled or afraid’. John 14:27
